Has finished Kiev Polytechnic Institute on speciality “Electric Drive and Automation of Industrial Facilities”. Since 1975 until now – working at the Institute of Gas of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. 1982 – defended thesis “Research and Development of Increased Power Units for Spraying of Coatings in Combustion Products Plasma” in speciality “Welding Production Technology and Machines” for a Candidate of Technical Sciences degree.

1996 – defended thesis “Science and Technology Principles of Thermal Spraying of Coatings and Treatment of Materials in Air-Gas Plasma” in speciality “Technology and Machines for Welding and Related Processes” for a Doctor of Technical Sciences degree.

Since 1998 – member of the Special Board for Defense of Doctoral Theses, and Professor of the Kiev Technical University.

Author of two books, over 200 publications and scientific journals, and 50 patents.

Scientific interests:

• Theory of processes for generating electric arc plasma and its technological application for spraying of protective coatings, treatment of materials, and plasma chemistry;
• New technologies and equipment based on electric-arc plasma.

From 1975 to 1997 — Lvov Polytechnic Institute (Ukraine). Post-graduate study in the Institute of material authority problems and in Institute of electric welding after E. Paton of National Academy of Science of Ukraine. Doctors post-graduated study in the Institute of electric welding after E. Paton of National Academy of Science of Ukraine, profession – welding and the similar technologies.

1987 — Candidate of technical science.

1995 — Active Member of New York Academy of Sciences, diploma of including to the membership of Academy issued in December of 1995.

2000 — had defend Ph. D. dissertation “Scientific and technological basis of gas-thermal spraying of amorphized coatings from metal alloys”.

Had published 190 scientific works, including 5 books, is an author of 57 inventions, protected by the copyright certificate and the patent of Ukraine and Russia.
